Introduction

Hey there! My name is Shelly. I'm thankful you've come across my page! I am a 26 year old boy mom and wife to a really talented man named Dom. My boy's are 4 and 6. This blog will be a collection of my life as a mother, a Christ follower, a musician, a hair artist, a bargain shopper, and so many other hats that like many other moms, I wear too. I chose the name "The Awkward Madre" because the biggest reason I could give myself of why I shouldn't start a blog is because I am awkward (I'll eventually make a post explaining that). So I figured owning it now will allow me to be the person I am without disguising myself to feel more relevant. I also chose the word "Madre" to give a glimpse of my Hispanic background.
